Cardboard
Cardboard represents the bulk of waste paper material generated in the UK and is made of cellulose fibres, generally from wood pulp, which can be used again if recycled.
Cardboard packaging takes up a lot of room in the average household and industrial site. The Pearce Group offer a range of compaction and collection solutions to suit your environment.
We can provide containers to assist in segregating your cardboard for recycling. For high volume recycling, we can also supply a range of equipment to enable a cost effective workable solution, including mobile and static compactors, rotorpacs and baling presses.
All cardboard material is collected via our own fleet of vehicles for sorting and grading at one of our Material Recycling Facilities (MRF) prior to delivery to a paper mill.
As with paper, cardboard will be then be taken to a mill to be cleaned. It will then be pulped with water. Pulping helps to separate out the fibres to reform the cardboard to make new products.
The UK produced an estimated 9.3 million tonnes of waste packaging in 2005. Of this 5.1 million tonnes came from households and the remaining 4.2 million tonnes from commercial and industrial sources.
We can provide a selection of waste compactors that can compact up to a ratio of 6:1 skips!
